Hi, I’m Nancy Scales Coddington—science communicator, national STEM trainer, and founder of SciComm Solutions.

I’ve been curious for as long as I can remember—fascinated by bugs, clouds, creek critters, and anything that made me ask “Why does that happen?” That curiosity led me to earn a degree in environmental science and eventually step in front of the camera as a science storyteller. For over 15 years, I hosted and produced educational programming for a PBS/NPR affiliate, including the award-winning show Science Pub, where I interviewed scientists, engineers, and changemakers to connect science with the public in fun and accessible ways.

But something was missing: too many people still didn’t see themselves in STEM. So I started SciComm Solutions.

At SciComm Solutions, we believe science isn’t just for scientists. It’s for the dreamers, the doers, the curious minds who’ve never seen themselves in a lab coat but still ask “Why?” and “What if?” Our mission is to amplify those voices and create meaningful connections between science and society—especially for women, underrepresented communities, and the next generation of STEM leaders.

Today, you’ll find me:

• Leading national educator trainings and workshops
• Coaching scientists and STEM professionals to connect with real-world audiences
• Designing hands-on wearable tech experiences that blend circuits, creativity, and confidence
• Partnering with PBS stations, schools, and organizations across the U.S. and beyond

I’ve worked with organizations across the U.S and the globe. My projects have earned three Public Broadcasting awards, and my fiber optic “Galaxy Goddess” dress won a national STEM fashion design contest—because sometimes, science shines on the runway.

When I’m not traveling, speaking, or filming, I’m building community through STEM Socialite, a platform that brings storytelling, fashion, and science together to create a sense of belonging in STEM.
